Subject: Aerials Up

Hailing from North of the Border, over the space of the last 12 breathless months Aerials Up have been on something of a mental upward slope taking in various slots at the likes of T in the Park and a number of Vic Galloway sessions.

Trading in anthemic indie rock, AU take a danceable approach to throwing the kitchen sink at the mix, cramming the speakers with huge waves of harmonies and vocals crashing joyously into skyscraping guitars, glocks and violins.

If this all sounds like so far so Arcade Fire then yes there is more than a trace of Win Butlers euphoric gloam over proceedings here but by rooting their sound in almost folky influeces (check out the knees up romp Stay Awake that closes the bands debut ep for evidence of how affecting that can be) and delivered in that delicously mid altantic Scot drawl, the band manage to carve their own shapes into the rockface.

Definitely one to pick up very soon
